The Soccer Conglomerate made up of Southern California Irvine Strikers, South Coast Bayern, So Cal Infinity, a.k.a. Strikers FC, have another big reason to celebrate. A third, elite, international, by invitation only tournament! The official invitation arrived April 9th from Madrid, Spain, courtesy of XII Internacional Infantil C.D. Canillas, for this September 21st, 22nd and 23rd. South Coast Bayern, now Strikers FC have made it a point to think outside the box and go play, compete, compare and learn from European, South American, and Mexican youth teams. Our unique vision of where our players should be drawing from, what we should be teaching young players, give our Club a competitive edge against all the rest.
With this new opportunity in Spain, Strikers FC is once again heading up a younger generation of B14 to measure up against the prodigy youth of Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Manchester City, Club America, Werder Bremen, to name a few of only 22 Teams invited this year. Vicente Del Bosque, last year's homenage, said and I quote, "This is one of the best U14 tournaments in the world. CD Canillas is a satelite club of Real Madrid and since 6 years they are organizing this fantastic tournament. Again the strongest teams in the world will participate." If we succeed and show the Canillas FC Tournament Committee that in this age group we can compete against the best of the world, we will have established international recognition and maybe secure an invitation for teams to come in this very competitive age group.
Recently, after his first appearance with the team in Montaigu, France where the team achieved a 2-1-1 record, head coach for the Men's U17 National Team, Richie Williams said, "I just think the more players can play against International competition, it's going to be great for their development." something that we at South Coast Strikers have been practicing and doing for years. We don't wait for our players to make it or not to nationals to obtain this experience, we embody this philosophy and continue to pursue this top level experience for our players. The B17 Premier team have maintained a record high of 6 consecutive invitations back to back since their first appearance back in 2007 to compete in The Milk Cup in Northern Ireland. The Junior Team B15 has secured a second year invitation to this prestigious Cup. And now we can include the B13 age group in our international challenge.
Today we can sum up that all of our affiliated clubs and players will benefit tremendously with larger pools of player resources, specialized training, college showcases, Women's ECNL, Boys Academy, Manchester United Nike Premier Cup in the U.S. For Boys and Girls U14/U15, N.I. Milk Cup B17 and B15, recently, Canillas CD International Tournament B13, not to mention State, Regional and National competition for both genders in all ages. With Strikers FC, you not only get the best experience in the country, you get to compete against the best in the world!
