Christian Thierjung capped his stellar 2010-11 Development Academy campaign by formally announcing his intention to compete for Kevin Grimes and his CAL Bear program upon his graduation from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in 2013.

Competing for the Irvine Strikers U15/16 Academy team, Thierjung netted 20 goals which ranked  #2 in the Western Conference and #5 nationally for this age group. He is ranked as the No. 35 and No. 49 top recruit by Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News respectively.
