Irvine Strikers' Boys U10 team coached by Roy Chingirian are Champions of Cal South's 2015 Sports Authority State Cup, Presidents Division. Strikers won all 8 games they played, and outscored their opponents 29-6 during the tournament. However, the championship did not come easy. In both the semi-final and final, Strikers found themselves one goal down. In the semi-final, Strikers scored three goals in the 2nd half to capture a 3-1 win against a tough Albion SC BU10 White team. To win the championship, Strikers showed great heart in scoring two goals in the closing minutes of the final, stunning an excellent FC Golden State B10 PDA 05 team, by the score of 2-1.
The State Cup championship was two years in the making. In last year's State Cup semi-final, the same Strikers team made it to the semi-finals, only to be beaten by FC Golden State.
Striker's State Cup Championship continued the team's exceptional start to 2015. In January, Strikers BU10 won the Vegas Cup, another highly ranked tournament, held over MLK weekend in Las Vegas. Strikers finished 5-0 in the tournament, outscoring their opponents 19-2. Strikers beat top teams from Nevada, Utah, Los Angeles, and Surf Academy Select and Chula Vista FC from the San Diego area, on their way to the Championship.
Strikers FC tied for 5th most collegiate commitments in the country for US Development Academy clubs on national signing day (11 players committed): Devin Anderson (Sonoma State), Anthony Badea (Mass Institute of Technology), Halil Beqaj (UC Riverside), Justin Carpenter (Loyola Marymount), Indiana Fuller (Point Loma Nazarene), AJ Harb (UC Riverside), Noah Lasutschinkow (Bradley), Shinya Kadono (UC Berkeley), Jonathan Klinsmann (UC Berkeley), Cameron Mardan (Northwestern), Evan Williams (San Francisco).
